Develop a Marine Research Station or a private farm with numerous options for aquaculture available on this six hectare (fifteen acres) island located about fifteen minutes by boat from the port in Pedregal, on the outskirts of David. The island is ROP but the titling process is underway.
This homestead island is planted in yuca and coconut trees and past gardens of vegetables have reportedly been very successful. There is a ‘rancho’ structure on the island and the cleared area is perfect for a small plantation. Purchasing the rights of possession for these six hectares allows unfettered access to the more than 50 hectares (124 acres) of mangrove forest that surrounds the island. The mangroves represent breeding areas and sustenance for many forms of marine species and the plentitude of mangroves with their pristine and natural conditions – likely more than 400,000 hectares – off the Pacific coast of Chiriqui are surpassed by few places in the world.
The elderly people who own the island are only wanting to retire and are offering the property for $39,000. We will assist on the issuance of title which will bring an additional cost.
