Jacobsbaai is a fishermans haven with the azure Atlantic Ocean providing an abundance of seafood like crayfish, hottentot, galjoen, white steenbras and black mussels. You will find fresh crayfish in season, normally from November to January. Visit the fishing boats on the beach as they arrive back with their mornings catch.
The area offers spectacular hiking along the scenic coastline. Nature walks, bird watching and the multi-flower extravaganza during spring are all part of the West Coast experience. When the wanderlust sets in, the 17km hiking trail between Swartriet and Tietiesbaai, is a good option to satisfy your curiosity of the equally gorgeous surrounding bays. Golf, sailing, deep-sea fishing, underwater diving, horse riding, organised boat trips and romantic sunset cruises can be arranged. Other activities in the area include windsurfing, sailing and canoeing.
